Turkey is turning its back on Syrians fleeing war

Bahaa, a 33-year-old Syrian textile worker, has a new morning commute. Every day, he makes his way to a workshop in the outskirts of Istanbul, avoiding other commuters and public transport. "I used to take the bus, but now I go in the side alleys," Bahaa, who asked to be identified only by his first name, says he has lived in fear since Turkish authorities announced a crackdown on refugees who are not registered to live in Istanbul.
