Iranians sanctioned and charged for alleged cyber-based bids to influence 2020 US elections

The Biden administration on Thursday unveiled charges and sanctions against Iranian nationals who are alleged to have conducted a cyber influence campaign in last year's election, including in some instances crafting messages to appear as if they were from the far-right Proud Boys.
